The New Gods

Recently Warner Bros. canceled development of a NEW GODS Movie. The project was written by comic book Writer Tom King and film director Ava DuVernay, with DuVernay directing. The project was a massive step for Warners and their attempt to distance themselves from the Snyderverse. I have my own ideas on what to do with the New Gods...

(NEW GODS: ORION VS DARKSEID by Jack Kirby)

The New Gods is a sprawling epic perfect for a TV Series in the vein of GAME OF THRONES. The Series is kinda like a Star Wars meets Game of Thrones meets Lord of the Rings type epic. It creates unique environments, characters, concepts, and world views perfect for a long form exploration in a television series. It's one of comics most unique stories and has several interesting protagonist and antagonist. With the New Gods you have heroic characters like: Orion, Mister Miracle, and Barda. You have figurehead characters like the High Father, and in the realm of antagonists you have: Darkseid, Desaad, Steppenwolf, Kalibak, Granny Goodness. There are enough characters to really rotate and tell the iconic story that Jack Kirby told with every level of sophistication and depth that writers like George R.R. Martin and Stephen King have written with their epic fantasy stories. 

HBO is looking for a long term Game of Thrones replacement. With the trend going on every network is seeking their own Fantasy Epic, New Gods stands out with its Sci-Fi aesthetic. Game of Thrones was a unique series, and to replace that impact and that popularity you need something that's different in looks and approach. This is the perfect situation for New Gods to step up, it's an intelligent and well written story perfect for such a spot. The New Gods should be the next the big thing in Television.

Follow the story of the Orion, the son of Darkseid raised by the Highfather, as he tries to broker peace between Apokolips and New Genesis, leading to his eventual war against his father. Then there's the romance between Mister Miracle, the son of Highfather - Raised by Darkseid, and Barda a Lieutenant of Granny Goodness' assassin force the Female Furies. Telling the origins of all the characters and the sprawling Epic of the Fourth World this is a perfect mish-mash of Star Wars and Game of Thrones. It is the perfect story to replace Game of Thrones.
