How I would do a Zack Snyder/Ben Affleck Red Hood Origin in Zack Snyder's DC Cinematic Universe...

Jason Todd, Red Hood, arguably the result of Batman's greatest failure and the greatest reinvention of any character in the Batman Mythos. A popular gun-totting vigilante who has been trained by Batman and served as his sidekick and lived as his son. With a wildly different possibility up for grabs in Zack Snyder's DC Cinematic Universe, I take a look at a possible way to adapt the Red Hood story, while honoring Snyder's original ideas.

Bob Garlen Presents: FALLING DOWN Remake Fancast

Falling Down is a 1993 film directed by (the late) Joel Schumacher, telling the story of an ordinary man pushed too far, going on a rampage acting out the frustration and injustice he's suffered due to a society evolving to nurture apathy. It's a movie that I feel is more tonally relevant then ever. The original film starred the Michael Douglas (Ant-Man) as the socially wronged William Foster and Robert Duvall (Apocalypse Now) as the retiring Lt. Martin Pendergast.

Bob Garlen Presents: Robocop versus The Terminator Fan Cast and Story Synopsis

The Battle of two of cinema's greatest titans, the Cybernetic Lawman Robocop, and the Cybernetic Killing Machine the Terminator. While crossovers have been plentiful with comic books and video games pitting the two titans against each other, there hasn't been much talk of a cinematic crossover, which seems criminal in the recent climate of reboots, remakes, sequels, requels, and all other manner of cinematic exploitation of various film franchises. This version imagines itself as a proper sequel to both Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Robocop.

Bob Garlen Presents: THE CROW Fan Cast

The idea behind this re-adaptation of James O’Barr’s legendary Graphic Novel would be to adapt it in tone and visually closer to the original comic. This would involved the film being black and white and with splashes of color only through the flashbacks. This adds in several characters from the comic absent in the original film, creating a larger cast. This does have some changes compared to both original film and comic but carries a specific tone.

Bob Garlen Presents... BANE, a DC Black Label Origin Movie Synopsis and Fancast

The DC Black Label was a pitch by filmmaker Todd Philips to take DC Characters and tell standalone or isolated films that are character pieces deconstructing and reinventing popular DC Comics characters. The first film under this conceptual banner was 2019’s Joker, a film that has risen above the ranks and has become a cultural and box office juggernaut the likes that have never been seen from an R-Rated release.

This has opened the door for an opportunity to take numerous DC Characters and do something similar that Joker did. Tell adult stories reconstructing these characters in a light that hasn’t been seen by the movie-going audience. Numerous characters are ripe for such treatment and many of them are deserving of it.

There is one villain, a Batman villain, that stands out as a perfect subject for such vigorous reinvention and deconstruction… BANE. Having appeared in two-previous live action Batman Movies, Bane is an iconic villain from the comic that broke Batman. Bane’s story is bigger than his accomplishments against Batman. Bane has a tragic story. Bane has a story that is equal parts Count of Monte Cristo and Shawshank Redemption. Bane’s story is that of a man rising to be a paragon of Human will, and that it’s possible even in the lowest of all possible situations.

Bane is a wonderful DC Comics character, created by writer Chuck Dixon and superstar artists Graham Nolan, Bane is a character with no true name and a world of tragedy under his belt. He’s a wonderful character, my favorite Batman villain, and this is my pitch on a Bane Origin Movie.
